All I ever wanted was to see you smilin all I ever wanted was to make you mine I know that I love you oh baby why don't you see that all I ever wanted

Hey, Happy New Year, all that jazz

Damn you lot! I was so close to actually putting words down on a blank page that I have been staring at for a good ten minutes and starting my new short story (details will be kept secret until I write two chapters then give up on the project)and I suddenly remembered that I've not blogged since last year and I was going to blog last weekend, and then this weekend and now it's Monday and I feel a little guilty about not updating, not that I have much to write.
So Christmas was a laugh and very tiring as it always is, but the day was good and it was nice to spend it with the family.
Chris Barker (international DJ) was in Harrogate as part of his European tour having flown into the UK from Berlin (or somewhere else) only days before Christmas, so I thought I'd go take a look at his 'set' at the FIRE party at Rehab, he donated his fee to Oxfam, being the kind of guy he is, rubbing shoulders with the rich and famous (Nicholas Cage, to name just one - no joke!).
His DJ set was rather good and I had a jolly good time dancing and throwing some shapes, which is all credit to the DJ as the only shape I usually throw on the dance floor is the shape of a thoroughly miserable person.
After all those shennaegans DJ Barker returned to his homeland to do an exclusive gig at OPA for New year while I went to Wales.
Wales or Betws-y-Coed as it was called was a brilliant two nights away, we stayed in a hotel/Chinese restaurant and couldn't ask for anything more to be honest, the food was great (Matt ate a birds nest and quoted the next day "Have you ever tried to shit out a birds nest?" to great mirth) and the hospitality was excellent too, we all receieved a beautiful calendar when we checked out which was a great little touch. I would definitely stay there again and I would advise others to do so if you are down that way, the digs were called 'the Dragon hotel' I think.
New year 2010 (another 88200 years until I can write 90210) and the snow, bloody hell, don't mention the snow! how dare I mention the snow, the snow the snow the dreaded snowwwwwwww. Seriously, if Hitler had a snow machine he'd have won World War 2!
Great Britain came to a grinding halt in all the excitement the snow brought, of course if you live down south you were a few days late with the snow but still fannied about like your fucking lives were ending when it did come. Up north however things soon got back to normal, as it should. The news people however have been acting like aliens have invaded or something, "the news today, fucking snow!"
Although the main news didn't actually pick up on the snow story until it hit down south and then it was bedlam and panic in the streets, I'm surprised the fucking student population didn't try to march down Downing Street demanding that Gordon Brown lynch himself because of the snow. Fucking students!
I went to the doctors today to hand in a repeat prescription and you can't hand it to the woman at the desk. No, you have to post it in this make shift post box thing they have on the wall, it's a simple idea, so simple that I managed to get my finger stuck in the gap where you post your 'scripts, to great amusement of the receptionist who had to open it up and free my finger, which then hurt for a good three minutes afterwards!
Anyway, I've been busy with my little ukulele, actually, let's be honest I'm getting pretty bloody good with the damned thing, I want an electro ukulele and so instead of just going and spending money on it I've challenged myself to get good enough to warrant spending £50 on one, and I've already passed my challenge marker, so I'll probably be buying one come the end of the month. I uploaded a version of me playing 'it must be love' on facebook, you can see that here:

And just for you few people who read this blog, I've done a very special version of the song 'Day Man' from always sunny in Philadelphia:
